Essential Oils to Achieve Youthful Glowing Skin

Every year, Americans spend more than 50 million dollars on skin care and hair products. Indeed, the beauty and cosmetic industry is a huge business - from soaps, gels to anti-aging products and deodorants, we all use these products. And every year, thousands of new products are being introduced into the market, promising to enhance skin tone, reduce signs of aging and revitalize the body and mind. If you think about it, it seems like there’s no end in sight.

The sad truth is that many of these products don’t live up to those promises for the reason that human-made substances don’t possess the same healing properties that Mother Nature provides from resins and plants. In fact, many of these synthetic ingredients pose danger to health.

We often think of our skin as a barrier – from harmful environmental toxins and dangerous radiations from the sun. But the truth is, our skin also acts like a sponge – absorbing anything that comes in contact with. When you are putting toxic cosmetic in your skin, you are introducing toxic ingredients that could harm your body.

So how are you going to prevent this potentially dangerous synthetic ingredients from harming your body? The answer is to create your own skincare recipe using nature’s most powerful substance – an aromatic liquid called ‘essential oils’.

What Exactly are Essential Oils?

Essential oils represents the fragrant soul of a plant. It is the volatile liquid distilled from the leaves, stems, flowers, seeds, roots and bark of a plant. There are plenty of bio-compounds that makeup a particular oil. For instance, peppermint oil contains 10 different bio-compounds that ranges from beta-caryophyllene to menthol. Frequently, there are certain chemicals within the oil that cannot be recognized or identified – seems like Nature’s hidden secret.

When inhaled, the oil’s molecules stimulate the olfactory nerve, which affects the respiratory system and the limbic center of the brain. Essential oils work in different levels – emotionally, physiologically, spiritually – and they’re also for their anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties.

Touted as the lifeblood or essence of the plant, essential oils serve several functions -  the odour repels pests, viruses and bacteria; at the same, it attracts pollinating insects. Essential oils are believed to contain vibrational energy which holds the healing power of the plant necessary for survival. People who use them can also benefit from such healing power.

How Do Essential Oils Work?

Vegetable oils, used for cooking, are composed of very large molecules that cannot penetrate at a cellular level. However, essential oils are different in the sense that they’re composed of smaller molecules able to penetrate on cell membrane and provide healing within the core. Because of this unique feature, they are able to pass through the skin where they are most needed. Due to this structural complexity, they can perform numerous functions with only a few drops applied on the skin.

Because essential oils from sourced from natural plant, it won’t leave any greasy or oily spot. Right after being applied to the skin, it is quickly absorbed and do its work. Modern science has tried to copy the healing capabilities and chemical constituents of essential oils but they cannot. Pharmaceutical products made by man lack the unique lifeforce that can only be found in essential oils. Moreover, many synthetic products have many negative side effects – some are even deadly.

While most essential oils cause no serious side effects, always use them with caution. Read the Tips When Using Essential Oils written below before using any essential oils. Though many people reported amazing results when using them, every person may have different experience since diet, family history and lifestyle play a crucial role in the body’s healing process.
