How Far Infrared Sauna Works for Weight Loss



Far infrared sauna is a healthy weight loss option that you can do without exercising. This therapeutic heating method can burn 400 to 600 calories in a 30-minute session. 





A 30-minute session of far infrared sauna can make a moderately fit person sweat a pound of sweat, and this is equivalent to running 2 to 3 miles. Although it is true that the amount of water expelled during the sauna can be regained by drinking water, the calories that you lost from the session will not, which result in weight loss. However, weight loss is only one of the numerous benefits of far infrared sauna when used regularly.

Far infrared sauna temperature ranges from 90 degree up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. This is far too low from the traditional sauna that often operated up to 220 degree F. Despite the lower temperature, a person will naturally perspire more under an infrared sauna since this type of heat penetrates the body much deeper.

Body fat turns water-soluble at 100 degree F. Then it starts to disperse, move and combines with the blood until finally, eliminated from the body leading to weight loss. Toxins can also be expelled through the skin through much lower temperature for faster detoxification.

What Makes Infrared Heat Different From Other Heat?

Radiant heat such as the infrared heat is more effective than other types of heat since it naturally warms the body, and not the air surrounding you. One good example is the heat of the sun. Sunlight provides warm heat on your skin, the kind of heat you feel from cold sunny day. Far infrared waves are able to penetrate and warm up the body internally because it has the same frequency as we do. We are also emitting far infrared energy. One example is heating our palm, which is believed to have healing properties through far infrared heat.

Cellulite is made up of fats, waste and water that are trapped in numerous pockets just below the skin. Far infrared can help reduce the appearance of cellulite.
